William J. Long died of a sudden heart attack in Cedar Rapids, Ia., Aug. 22, 1961. His funeral was held Friday from St. Patrick church with Bakke and Hanson in charge. The Rev. Fr. John McDonald officiated and a military service was also held. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Connor, George Connor, Robert McDonald, Bernard Beeney, Harrison Toney and Joe Deeney.
Born in Waukon, March 22, 1918, Mr. Long was the son of Albert and Florence (Deeney) Long. He had lived in Waukon and Cedar Rapids, Ia.
He was unmarried. Remaining are his sisters, Mrs. Jay Profita of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Gerald Huffman of Corona, Calif., Mrs. Arnold Olson of Waukon, and Mrs. Raymond F. Rea of Cedar Rapids, Ia.
