Funeral services for Esther M. Fiet, were held Tuesday, August 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Ludlow Township. The Rev. Roger Hawthorne officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements, and burial was in the church cemetery.

Esther Mary Fiet, daughter of Herman and Louise (Klepper) Hansmeier, was born April 26, 1901 in Ludlow Township, A1Iamakee County, Iowa. She passed away August 19, 1979 at the Community Memorial hospital in Post­ville, at the age of 78 years.

She received her education in the rural schools of Ludlow Township. Esther was confirmed in 1915 at the Salem United Church of Christ.

August 9, 1923 she married Waiter Fiet at the family home.

For 46 years she cleaned the Bethlehem church, providing flowers for the sanctuary throughout the growing season. She was a charter member of the Bethlehem Ladies Aide.

She is preczeded in death by her parents; a brother, Elmer Hansmeier; and a sister, Mrs. Martin (Meta) Adam.

She is survived by her husband, Walter; a daughter, Mrs. Irvin (Delois) Flage of Ludlow; a grandson, Daniel Flage of LaCrescent, MN; a granddaughter, Mrs. Joel (Deborah) Timmerman of Ludlow; two brothers, John and Rueben Hansmeier, both of Waukon; and two sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Emma) Stock of Waukon and Mrs. Dorothy Haugen of Decorah.
