William V. Evans

Services for William V. Evans, 79, of 949 Lowell St., who died Tuesday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of cancer, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at O’Keefe & Towne Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Pfaltzgraff, pastor of the Calvary United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Honey Creek Cemetery near New Providence.
Mr. Evans was born Jan. 18, 1891, in Allamakee County to Abraham and Jane Brooks Evans. He came to Waterloo 50 years ago and was employed by the John G. Miller Construction Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1957.
He was married to Ethel Beebe Oct. 16, 1938, at Marshalltown. His wife is his only survivor. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
