Allamakee Farmer is Found Dead in Field

Dorchester – Milton Backhaus, elderly Dorchester farmer, was found dead in a farm field north of Waukon Tuesday afternoon by his brother, with whom he lived.

Authorities ruled the death due to natural causes. He had been working in the field.
