Otto J. Hager, 82, Dies at Waukon
Waukon – Otto J. Hager, 82, former Waukon banker and a collector for the state tax commission in recent years, died Tuesday morning.
Mr. Hager was one of the founders and had served as president of the First National bank of Waukon. He also had served as president of the Waterville Savings bank, as vice-president of the New Albin Savings bank and as a director in the Dorchester Savings and the Brownsville, Minn. State banks.
Mr. Hager was born April 7, 1867, on a farm near Waukon. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hager, who came to Iowa in 1849. He was married to Ella Stevens Sept. 20 1900. Surviving, besides his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. H. M. Griffts of Ithaca, N. Y and Mrs. Oscar E. Tauber of Ames; two brothers, J. H. and Paul Hager, both of Waukon, and two sisters, Mrs. John Opfer of Waukon and Mrs. Edward Opfer of Byron, Minn.
