Waukon Farm Wife Dies in Auto Crash

Waukon – Mrs. Ralph Flage, 44, Waukon farm wife, was injured fatally Friday when she lost control of her car near her home and the car plunged into a ditch and struck a culvert. It was Allamakee county’s first traffic fatality of the year.

Mrs. Flage was found by LaVerne Perry of Castalia a passerby, and taken to a Waukon hospital. She was pronounced dead on arrival there.

Mrs. Flage had been in Waukon shopping and was headed homeward. The Flage farm is about seven miles southwest of Waukon.

Survivors include her husband, two sons, Gary, a student at State College of Iowa, and Dean, a Waukon high school student and four sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Jeide and Mrs. Rudolph Moen, both of Waukon; Mrs. Albert Galvin, West Bend, Wis.; Mrs. Robert Becker, Milwaukee and Mrs. Henry Meyer of North Carolina.

The body is at Schutte funeral home in Postville.
