Jason G. Carpenter, 31, of St. Charles, MN, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at his home in St. Charles.
He was born on July 15, 1972 in LaCrosse, WI to Michael and Susan (Strong) Carpenter. Jason graduated from Caledonia High School and Calmar Technical School. He married Kimberly Schwartzhoff on November 20, 1993 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Dorchester, IA. He was currently employed in the plumbing industry in Rochester.
Jason enjoyed cooking, grilling and trying new recipes. He also enjoyed taking his children fishing and trapping. He was a member of the Local 6 Plumbing Union of Rochester and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Charles.
He is survived by his wife Kim and his nine-year-old son Kolton and five-year-old daughter Katherine all of St. Charles; his parents Mike and Sue Carpenter of Caledonia; two sisters, Tracy (Jeff) Sawle of Menomonie, WI and Erin (Jake) Lampert of Caledonia; his mother and father-in-law, Gerald and Darlene Schwartzhoff of Dorchester, IA; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael (Michelle) Schwartzhoff, Decorah, IA, Greg Schwartzhoff, Spring Grove, Michele (Steven) Pladsen, Harpers Ferry, IA, Kerri (Scott) Johanningmeier, Decorah, and Mary (Matthew) Driscoll, Cedar Falls, IA; his step-brothers and sisters-in-law, Brian (Jackie) Vick, Spring Grove, Tim (DeeDee) Vick and Travis (Stacey) Vick all of Caledonia, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Burndette Carpenter, Ray Strong and Norbert Tschumper, his mother-in law, Rita Schwartzhoff, his aunt and cousin Dava and Gail Isenberg and his best childhood friend, Tim Dotzler.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m., Monday, June 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Caledonia. Fathers Jim Callahan and Gregory Leif will concelebrate and burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery, rural Caledonia. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Holy Family Hall, behind St. Mary’s Church, 513 S. Pine St., Caledonia. A rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. and and a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorials may be given to an education fund for Jason’s children, Kolton and Katie.
