LeRoy Ellenbolt, age 86, of Lansing, died Saturday, August 10, 2002, at his home in rural Lansing. LeRoy Ellenbolt was born in Faribault, Minn., on January 14, 1916, to Clark and Helen (Robertson) Ellenbolt. He was a graduate of the McGregor Iowa High School. LeRoy married Jeanne M. Bloxham on September 30, 1937, in Waukon by Justice of the Peace R. L.VanNice. She preceded him in death on December 5, 1974. LeRoy and his wife were long time Allamakee County farmers. He enjoyed fishing and spending time in the woods cutting firewood. LeRoy is survived by two children, Katheryn Ellenbolt, Lansing, and Clark (Connie) Ellenbolt, West Salem; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. LeRoy was preceded in death by his spouse Jeanne; his parents; and a granddaughter, Tami Ellenbolt.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at the United Methodist Church in Lansing with Rev. Keith Putney officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing. Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing assisted with arrangements. Casketbearers were Pat Gavin, John Gavin, Joe Gavin, Roger Mohn, Mike Gavin, and Tom Gavin.- source: Waukon Standard, August 14, 2002
