Edith "Edie" Sickles-Crapp, age 54, of Waukon, IA died following a lengthy battle with cancer Wednesday evening, Aug. 9, 2006 at her home in Waukon. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14 at The Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing, with Pastor Keith Putney officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lansing.

Edie was born in Waukon August 17, 1951 to Cletus and Verna (Heim) Sickles. She married Timothy Crapp August 28, 1971 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lansing.

She graduated from Lansing High School in 1969 and from Luther College in 1972. Over the years Edie worked at Opportunity Homes in Decorah, did substitute teaching, and worked at Nursing Homes in Lansing and Waukon. She had a large collection of Cookie Jars and Cook Books.

Survivors include her husband, Tim Crapp of Waukon; one child, Eric Crapp of Waukon; and two siblings, Kathy Sickles of Waukon and Denny (Heidi) Sickles of Lansing. Edie was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Marilyn Sickles in 1968.
