RITES HELD FOR CHARLES WARNHOLTZ
Charles F. Warnholtz, the son of John and Elisabeth Schultz Warnholtz was born in Fayette County, on May 16,1881. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul`s Evangelical Church of Postville, he died at the Decorah Retirement Center on September 6, 1965 at the age of 84 years, three months and 21 days.
He was married to Levena Muchow February 11, 1904 by the Rev. P.E. Bockelmann,pastor of St. Paul`s. The couple farmed in the Postville area until 1910, when they moved to town and Charles worked in the freight hauling business.
They moved to Aase Haugen Home near Decorah in December 1964, and Charles was moved to the Decorah Retirement Center about five weeks ago.He was preceded in death by his parents,four sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his wife, who makes her home at the Aase Haugen Home near Decorah. three sisters, Mrs. Herman Nuehring of Waukon, Mrs. Martin Halverson of Waukon and Mrs. Floyd Madison,Leanra,Calif., one brother,John of Floyd,Iowa, a number of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Schutte Funeral Home on Thursday, September 9, at 1:30 p.m..Interment was in the Postville Cemetery with Rev. Charles E. Witt,pastor of St. Paul`s Lutheran Church, officiating.
