John McMorrow, age 80, of Waukon, died Friday, April 23, 2004, at Northgate Care Center, Waukon. Funeral services were Monday, April 26, at St. Patrick's Church, Waukon, with Fr. Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, rural Waukon. Hanson's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

John McMorrow was born November 19, 1923, in Waukon, the son of William and Bridget (Rea) McMorrow. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Waukon. John farmed in the West Ridge area in Allamakee County. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church. John enjoyed going to the local stock car races. He also enjoyed driving around the countryside and visiting with people. He was an avid sports fan and especially liked the Iowa Hawkeyes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Survivors include two siblings, Frances McMorrow of Waukon and Yvonne Sexton of Ridgeway, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bridget McMorrow, and siblings Eleanor O'Neill and James McMorrow. Casketbearers were Dan O'Neill, Greg O'Neill, John Sexton, Patrick Sexton, David Sexton, and Steve Laures.
