Wanda Salaz

Wanda Jean Salaz, 76, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006, in Reno, Nev., following a long battle with cancer. A memorial mass was held Sunday, April 9, at Little Flower Catholic Church in Reno.

Wanda was born February 21, 1930, to Dan and Leona Rassmussen West on the family farm in Chickasaw County. She was educated in Wisconsin and Montana. She was confirmed in August of 1949 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon.

She graduated from the Chicago School of Nursing and then worked at hospitals in Chicago, Iowa, and Montana.

Wanda was preceded in death by two infant brothers and her parents.

She is survived by her husband Daniel; two siblings, Dorothy Buege of Waukon and Les West of Mission, Texas; four sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
