Irene E. Aldrich Haack, 89, of Westminster, Md., formerly of Waukon, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Hanover Hall Nursing Center in Hanover, Pa. Funeral services were held Monday, April 3, at Center Baptist Church in rural Lansing, Iowa, with Rev. Reuben Grueneich officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Services were also held in Westminster Thursday, March 30.
Irene Esther was born March 8, 1917, on the Center Township, rural Lansing farm of her parents Oscar and Hannah Victoria (Ahlquist) Johnson.
June 25, 1934, she married Delbert D. Aldrich. They moved to Maryland in 1941. Delbert died in 1962. She remarried William Haack, who died in 1985, and lived in Westminster, Md. She was a resident at Hanover Hall Nursing and Rehab Center in Hanover, Pa.
Survivors include a son, Duane (Bobbie) Aldrich of Hanover, Pa.; two daughters, Darla (James “Jack”) Bowman of Westminster, Md., and Diane (Steve) Husbands of Kennedale, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Aldrich of Westminster; grandchildren, Katrina (Dave) Workman, Duane (Diane) Aldrich Jr., Jason Aldrich, Daniel Aldrich, Michael (Sarah) Bowman, Ashley Bowman, David (Jill) Husbands, and Kendra (Ryun) Guthrie; great-grandchildren, Heidi (Daniel) Riddle, Robert, Duane III, Joseph, Joshua, Zachary, Joshua, and Christopher; great-great-grandchildren, Marcail and Jeremiah; a sister, Helen Bruns of Waukon; two brothers-in-law, Harold (Amy) Aldrich and Sidney Aldrich; two sisters-in-law, Christine Johnson and Joan Johnson; and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two daughters, Beverly Ann White and Darlene Aldrich; two sons, Robert G. and Eugene R. Aldrich; two brothers, Reuben and John Johnson; and a sister, Evelyn Anderson.
Casketbearers were Duane and Donald Aldrich, Roger Ericson, Jack Bowman, Steve Husbands, and Curt Roe.
