The death of Frederick Dresselhaus, Sr., took place at his late residence in Union City township, at 9 a.m., Oct. 6, 1902. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical Lutheran church at Eitzen on Wednesday, Oct. 8th, Rev. Wm. Meyer officiating, and interment made in the cemetory adjoining. Mr. Dresselhaus was born in Germany Dec. 27, 1838. March 25, 1862 he married Miss Anna Gieska and they came to America in the following June, settling on the farm in Union City twp. where he died. He was taken sick in August last and though after a time he rallied and was about the house and farm for a few days, it was only a temporary improvement, death resulting from a complication of heart and stomach troubles. He is survived by his wife, seven daughters and four sons, who mourn the loss of a kind husband and father. He was an honest man and good neighbor, and the esteem in which he was held was shown by the very large concourse at the funeral, several hundred persons following him to his last resting place.
