OVE T. ROE, Waukon. - Representative from Allamakee county, was born in that county September 4, 1887. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tolef Roe. He received his early education in the rural schools and Upper Iowa University at Fayette, Iowa. He married Emma Kolsrud of Waterville, Iowa, and five children were born to them: Thomas, Melvin, Doris, Kenneth and Willard. He is president of the Paint Creek Farmers Telephone Company, was president of the
Allamakee County Federal Farm Loan Association, treasurer and director of the Allamakee County Farm Bureau, president of the Luther League of W. P. C. church, and a member of the Allamakee County Fair Association. He is a member of the
Lutheran church. He has followed the occupation of a farmer with the exception of eight years while he was engaged in partnership with his brother, A. H. Roe, in the general merchandise business. Elected to the legislature in 1930

He served in General Assembly 44th (01/12/1931 - 01/08/1933), 45th (01/09/1933 - 01/13/1935), 46th (01/14/1935 - 01/10/1937)and 47th (01/11/1937 - 01/08/1939). The following is his bio from the 47th General Assembly:ROE, OVE T. Representative from Allamakee county, was born in the county which he represents, September 4, 1887. He received his early education in the rural schools and Upper Iowa University at Fayette, Iowa. He married Emma Kolsrud of Waterville, Iowa. Four children were born to them: Thomas, Melvin, Doris, and Kenneth. The following are some of the offices which he has held and still holds: He is president of the Paint Creek farmers telephone company, was president of the Allamakee county federal farm loan association, treasurer and director of the Allamakee county farm bureau, and president of the Luther League of the West Paint Creek church. He is a member of the Lutheran church. He has always taken an active part in the church, school and public affairs and has been and still is an official in these different activities. He has followed the occupation of a farmer with the exception of eight years while he was engaged in partnership with his brother, A. H. Roe, in the general merchandise business at Elon, Iowa. He was candidate for the state legislature in 1926 but was defeated by a majority of twenty-three votes. Elected to the legislature in 1930 has served in the forty-fourth, forty-fifth, forty-fifth extra, forty-sixth, forty-sixth extra, and forty-seventh general assemblies. In politics he is a democrat.
