Louis L. Kohlmeier was born in Allamakee County, Ia. on April 6, 1865, a son of Henry and Mary Kohlmeier. He came to Lyons in 1873 and attended country school for a time. After finishing school he began farming which vocation he has followed since that time until he retired in 1922 and moved to Lyons. Mr. Kohlmeier now owns 350 acres of land near Lyons. He married Emma Klenlen of Strawberry Point, Ia., on February 10, 1891 and to this union were born Arthur, Edward, Clara, Rienhart, George, Agnes, Agatha, Gertrude, Lawrence and Theodore.
