Moses Bollman
Moses Bollman was the 6th of 9 children of William Bollman and Elizabeth Hardin Bollman, who came to Iowa from Ohio in 1855. Earlier they had lived in Pennsylvania. William Bollman was a great-grandson of Hans Bollman who immigrated to Pennsylvania Colong from Holland on the ship "Charming Nancy", arriving Nov. 9, 1738.

Moses Bollman was born Jan. 26, 1838 at Zanesville, Ohio. He first came to Allamakee County, and it was from there that he enlisted in the Union Army during the Civil War, serving in the 1st Iowa Cavalry until the close of the war.

On Nov. 5, 1867, he married Nancy Harris. The were the parents of 3 children: a daughter, Mrs. Amos McMartin; Willard; and Margaret, Mrs. Edward Green. Nancy died Feb. 5, 1872.

On March 24, 1874, Moses Bollman married Carrie Brown. Carrie was born July 3, 1852 at LaPorte, Indiana. She came with her parents to Bloomfield Township in 1854. Moses and Carrie Bollman were the parents of 7 children: Fenton, parker, Vera, Ferrel, Talcott, Vives and Oberton.

Moses Bollman died Dec. 11, 1909 and his wife Carrie died Dec. 1931
