ALICE VICTORIS KEPNER
The community learned with regret that Mrs. Alice V. Kepner had passed away Saturday night at 11:15 o’clock at the home of her daughters, Mrs. Mae Drew at the advanced age of 91 years, 11 months, and 16 days.
Mrs. Kepner has made her home with her daughter for many years and has been in failing health the last 3 months, due mail to her advanced years Her physical condition was not critical until the last three weeks.
Alice Victoria Hull was born at Jefferson City, Vermont, April 13, 1860, daughters of John and Rosina Hull The family came to Iowa, locating near Bridgewater, where she was united in marriage to Andrew J. Kepner, March 24, 1878. The family moved to Adams County in 1895, and she has resided here since that time. Mr. Kepner passed away January 11, 1938, at their home in Corning. Two children, Eva Keefe and Percy Kepner also preceded the mother in death.
Surviving children who mourn the loss of their mother are; Tracy E. Kepner, Corning; Von M. Kepner, Denver, Colorado, Edward L. Kepner, David City, Nebraska, and Mrs. Mae Drew, Corning.
Mrs. Kepner was lovingly cared for in the Drew home, not only by her children, but by her grandchildren s well, who showed her deep devotion to which she always responded.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; one sister, Ms. Ida Jones, Curtis, Nebraska and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from the Church of Christ in Corning, Tuesday, April 1, 1952, at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Ray Nixon. Music was furnished by Ms. Ruth Reed, Miss Shirley Miller, and Mrs. Shirley Thomas, accompanied by Mrs. Frank Johnson.
Pall bearers were Perry James, Frank Johnson, Roy Campbell, Frank Miller, John Anderson, and Otto Anderson.
Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
