LARS O. LARSON
Lars O. Larson, son of Ole and Betsy Larson, was born November 28, 1869 in Illinois. He passed away Friday, November 12, 1948 at the nursing home in Villisca, Iowa, following a twelve weeks illness.. He was aged 78 years, 11 months, and 14 days. He had followed the occupation of farming all his life.
On August 1, 1900 he was married to Rebecca Irwin at Corning, Iowa. They made their home on farms in both Adams and Montgomery Counties during their married life. Six children were born to this union, Oliver, Darwin and Bernard preceding the father in death. Mrs. Larson passed away at Chariton, Iowa, December 11, 1942. The three surviving children are: Mrs. Lillie Westerlund, Nodaway, Iowa; Willis A. Larson, Kansas City, Missouri; Thelma Larson, Red Oak, Iowa.
Other near relatives surviving are, Mrs. Moody Christiansen of South Dakota; Joe E. Larson and Mrs. Joe Ben Peterson of Red Oak, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 15, at the Strand Lutheran Church at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Herbert Stahnke. Pal bearers were Lester Govig, Walter Gourley, Howard Penwell, Ralph DeVoss, Arthur Talbot, Willard McCracken. Interment was made in the Strand Cemetery.
