Rebecca Mae Larson, daughter of John and Amanda Irwin, was born in Nodaway, Iowa, February 4, 1878 and died at the home of her son Willis Larson two miles east of Chariton, Iowa on Friday, December 11, 1942 at the age of 64 years, 10 months, and 7 days. The immediate cause of her death was a paralytic stroke following a short illness.
She was married at Strand, Iowa August 1, 1900 to Larson O. Larson. Surviving children from this marriage are, Mrs. George Westerlund, Grant, Mrs. Thelma Larson, Chariton, Willis Larson, Chariton, and Darwin N. Larson of Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Two children, Oliver Wesley and Bernard preceded the mother in death. Other surviving relatives are four sisters, Mrs. Fruitt, Earlham, Mrs. Will W. Jones, Clarinda, Mrs. Frank Wisner, Santa Rosa, New Mexico, and Mrs. Frank Lewis of California; an aunt Mrs. Addie Wires, Council Bluffs, Iowa; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held from the Noble Center Evangelical Church of Morton Mills, Sunday, December 13. The services were in charge of Rev. DeWitt Stauffer. Burial was made in the Strand Cemetery. Music at the service was given by Cecil Weaver with Mrs. Wheeler accompanying on the piano. Pal bearers were R. W. DeVoss, Lester Loving, Thad Focht, Arthur Talbot, W. H. McCracken, and Walter Gourley.
