James Earl Mason
J. Earl Mason, son of J. A. and Mary Mason was born November 6, 1870, and passed away September 24, 1951 in a hospital near his home in Everett, Washington, where he had lived since 1927.
Earl had lived near Nodaway till the spring go 1909 when he and his brothers went to Bentog, Montana where he homesteaded. He was married to Miss Mame Kilbourne of Elgin, Illinois, February 14, 1916, who survives. In the fall of 1917, they sold their ranch and moved to Kalispell, Washington, where they lived for several years until moving to Everett. Mr. Mason was a member of the Methodist Church, but of late had attended the Baptist Church, from which he was buried. He is survived by his wife, three brothers, Joe of Nodaway, Paul of Great Falls, Montana, Dave of Wallace, Idaho, and sisters, Mrs. May Norcutt, Mrs. Maple Lacox, and Mrs. C. M. (Hope) Gile, all of Nodaway; Mrs. C. B. (Faith) Misner, Lakeview, Iowa; Mrs. W. B. (Mary) Barker, Corning, many nieces and nephews. One sister, Mrs. Joe Strain and one brother, Allen, preceded him in death.
