Ankron Hezikiah Carr

Ankron Hezikiah Carr was born July 23, 1871 near Carbon, Adams County and passed away September 23, 1953 at the Thomas Nursing Home in Lenox, at the age of 82 years, two months. He was the son of Irdill and Elizabeth Challenger Carr, who passed away when he was a small child. He was raised in the home of Joseph Martin near Carbon.
On March 9, 1892
he was united in marriage to Gertie A. Thomas, who preceded him in death March 27, 1946. He is survived by two sons, Dale of of Corning and Vernon of Denver, Colorado, six grandchildren whom he loved dearly and a host of relatives and friends. He was the last of a family of eight children. They lived on a farm near Carl until nine years ago when he retired and moved to Corning. The last two years he has been in failing health and has been cared for in his home by his son, Dale and his wife. He spent his entire life in Adams County and was a lover of his home.
Mr. Carr is a man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and especially from the community where he has lived.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 28, 1953 at 2 p.m. from the Roland Funeral Home in Corning with Rev. Harry Rogers and Rev. L. A. Walker officiating.
