The people of Brooks and the surrounding community were greatly grieved to learn that Henrietta Freshour had died suddenly at her home in Brooks, Saturday, March 2. The deceased had been ill for some time but seemed to be improving. Mrs. John Mitchell, a neighbor, found her on the floor dead, when she went in Saturday evening to make a friendly call. The coroner was called and pronounced her death due to natural causes. No arrangements have been made concerning the funeral at this time, as the brother is waiting for relatives from California. A telegram Tuesday announced that Mrs. Ada Hoorman and James Riford had reached Salt Lake City and expected to be in Omaha Wednesday evening.
Henrietta Freshour was born in Indiana, September 28, 1851 and died at her home in Brooks, Iowa, March 2, 1929, at the age of 77 years, 5 months, and 4 days She was married to Charles Dentler in Red Oak, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Earle, Annie, and Oscar. Oscar preceded his mother in death at the age of 12 years.
She united with the Adventist Christian Church nearly forty years ago and has been a faithful and devoted Christian during all the years of her life.
She is survived by one brother, Elmer, with whom she made her home in Brooks; one sister, Mrs. Lydia Riford in Venturia, California; four nephews and one niece. Three brothers, Will, James, and Frank preceded her in death.
Later-Funeral services will be held in the Brooks Church, Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Mr. Burchard. Interment will be made in Brooks Cemetery.
