Died at her residence, Mar. Matt Gourd, August 14, 1901. Elmira Epperly was born in Henry County, Indiana in June 30, 1854. When about 12 years old she came with her parents to Adams County, where she resided on the old homestead until her death. She united with the United Brethren Church in Corning a couple of years ago. Her husband, one daughter, one sister in Illinois, one brother in Kansas City survive her. Her father died in Kansas City a few weeks ago. Mrs. Gourd has been seriously ill about three months, and death came as a great relief to her. Rev. Mr. Wallace conducted the funeral and interment made in Walnut Grove Cemetery, August 16.
