.Robert Marshall, who lives on the place known as the Bixler Place, north of Highland died suddenly Monday morning while he was returning home from the coal banks where he had gone for a supply of coal. Mr. Marshall had gotten as far as the Wayne Hethcote home when he became ill and went into the house. A doctor was summoned, but Mr. Marshall died before he could be reached with medical care and coroner Boyd Roland was called, but no inquest was held and death was pronounced death by natural causes. Mr. Marshall is survived by his wife and family.

Robert Marshall, 62, died at the Hethcote home north of the Highland church in Adams County, February 17, 1936, of a heart attack.
Mr. Marshall had not been feeling well for a few days prior to his death. He was taken ill while returning from a coal mine with a load of coal. He stopped at a neighbor's home to get warm. His illness was such that Mrs. Marshall was called and before she arrived at the neighbor's home, he had died.
Because of badly drifted roads and a broken down truck, Mrs. Marshall was compelled to drive several miles to get to her husband, although she lived by a short distance from the neighbor's home.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock February 20, at the Advent Church with Elder Wm. Biden officiating. Serving as pall bearers were Harold Peters, John Biller, John Miller, Wayne Hethcote, Ned Hoyt, and Grant Embrue. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. The body will be removed to the cemetery near Quincy.
Robert Marshall was born January 3, 1874 at Douds, Iowa. At the age of 4 years his parents moved to Carbon, where he lived until he reached manhood. On November 19, 1902, he was married to Mary R. Embree in Lincoln Township, Adams County. They lived there fifteen years and later in Villisca, Gravity, and northwest of Sciola.
He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Joe Aiton of Bedford and granddaughter June LaVonne Aiton. Three brothers also survive, J. E. Marshall, Guthrie, Oklahoma; Alva Marshall, Ellenwood, Kansas, and Lafe Marshall, Los Angeles, California. Two aunts, Mrs. Lizzie Cappe and Mrs. Maggie Shannon, also survive.
Mr. Marshall was a member of the Christian Church of Villisca.

The body of Robert Marshall will be held at the Funeral Home in Villisca until the roads can be opened to Lincoln Center Cemetery where burial will be made. The funeral was held at Villisca, Thursday.

Mrs. Marshall moved this past week to Gravity whee she will live with her invalid mother. Mrs. Marshall will be missed by all in this vicinity.
