TWO DEATHS IN ONE FAMILY
Two sad deaths were reported this week in one family, whereby the husband and father and a daughter are taken from the home. Last Friday, May 8, Miss Maud Herring died in this city of blood poisoning and on Sunday, May 11, her father died of old age.
John S. Herring has resided in this county near Iveyville for almost 60 years and was a respected citizen and neighbor upright and honorable in all his dealings. He was a trifle over 84 years old at the time of his demise and and his daughter was 28. The Funeral services of Miss Maude Herring was conducted last Saturday at 2 o'clock p.m., while those of Mr. Herring were conducted from the Fairview Church by Rev. Lauth of Nodaway. Both were buried in the Prairie Rose Cemetery near Iveyville.
Sympathy is extended to the bereaved family for their double loss.
