Mrs. J. C. Jett died at her home Wednesday morning after a long siege of terrible suffering. Ellen Jane Black was born June 19, 1861 in Quincy Illinois and passed to her heavenly home September 20, 1905, aged 44 years and 3 months. When a young girl her parents moved to Kansas, where they resided a number of years. At the age of 16, she united with the M. E. Church and continued her relation to it until the time of her death. The deceased was married to J. C. Jett 19 years ago in Moran, Kansas. To this union three children were born, Pearl, Ernest, and Nellie, who were present during her sickness. The funeral was held at the M. E. Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Mr. Coe, assisted by Rev. Mr. Linn. A profusion of beautiful flowers tastefully arranged by sympathizing friends were laid upon the casket. The remains were laid to rest in the Nodaway Cemetery.
