Sarah E. Taylor Metcalf Yost passed away at the Greenfield Manor, Greenfield, Iowa, June 10, 1976, where she had made her home for the past two years.
Sarah was born January 14, 1887 in Adams County, Iowa to Sarah Ann Strait and Henry S. Taylor. She lived in Brooks until she married George Metcalf to which six children were born, Howard, Robert, Harold, Kenneth, Herschel, and Ura.
She was preceded in death by her husband George in 1920. She was then united in marriage to Harvey Yost in 1925 and he preceded her in death in 1949. She was also preceded in death by her parents and twin sons, Harold and Robert.
Survivors are her four sons, Howard Metcalf of Brooks, Iowa, Kenneth Metcalf of Flagstaff, Arizona, Harschel Metcalf of Perry, Iowa, and Ura Milton Metcalf of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She had 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Roland Funeral Home in Corning, Iowa, June 12 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Earl Kelly officiating. Interment was made in the Brooks Cemetery.
Music was provided by Donna Peckham. Pall bearers were James Crawford, Glade Haven, Harold Wilkinson, Henry Healine, Iva Heaton, and Charles McMurray.
