Roach, Doris Marie Pennington -
Doris Marie Roach of Des Moines, formerly of Corning passed away
February 10, 2007 in Des Moines. Funeral services were held February
15, 2007 at Coen Beaty Family Funeral Service in Corning with burial
in the Walnut Grove Cemetery at Corning. Rev. Andrew Rubenking
officiated the service. Memorials may be directed to the family. On-line

Doris Marie Roach was born March 13, 1926 in Corning, Iowa the daughter
of Thomas Pennington and Augusta Mae Sutton. She was united in marriage
to Ronald Arthur Roach on March 11, 1942 in Grant City, Missouri. Ronald
preceded her in death on September 14, 1988.
She was a homemaker, enjoyed socializing with friends and neighbors,
crocheting and was a wonderful cook.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Preston of Des Moines; son,
John (Linda) Roach of Kent, IA; son, Edward (Sherry) Roach of rural Kellogg,
IA; daughter, Laurie Schaefer, Indianola, IA; 13 grandchildren, 25 great
grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, sister-in-law Marie Roach and
family of Boulder, Colorado.
Preceding Doris in death were her parents, Tom and Augusta Pennington;
husband, Ronald Roach; brothers, Wesley Pennington, Paul "Penny" Pennington,
Roy "Toab" Pennington and sister, Hazel Johnson.
