Graveside funeral services for Bertha Hight, age 92 of Corning, who died
Thursday, September 14, 2006, at the Corning Nursing & Rehab Center were held
Sunday, September 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carl Cemetery. Visitation was held
Sunday afternoon from 12:30 to 1:30 at the funeral home.
Memorials can be directed to the Corning Public Library. Memories can be shared with

entrusted to Roland-Ritchie Funeral Home of Corning.
Bertha Loretta Hight was born August 16, 1914 in Conway, North Dakota the
daughter of Patrick Flynn and Mae (Walker) Flynn. On December 3, 1931, she was
united in marriage to Harold Hight. They farmed in the rural Carl vicinity until 1956,
when they purchased a farm near Corning. She was a dedicated farm wife and
worked for many years off the farm painting and wallpapering for many people in the
Corning area. Her hobby was crocheting. She especially enjoyed making afghans for
family members.
Left to cherish Bertha's memory are her son Rex Hight and wife Karen of Greenfield;
grandchildren Clint Hight and wife Lora of Greenfield; Melinda Treglia and husband Ed
of Clemson, South Carolina; Julie Jameson and husband Nick of Glenwood; great-
grandchildren, Adam, Lindsey, and Rachel Hight; Andrew, Emily and Wesley Treglia;
and Taylor, Trent andnSam Jameson; along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Bertha in death were her parents; her husband Harold in 1990; an infant
daughter Loretta Cleo in 1934; three brothers and six sisters; brothers-and sisters-
in-law Charlie and Gladys Hight; George and Velma Hight; and Bert and Hazel Miller.
