Hughes, Velma Cramer -
Graveside services for Velma Hughes, age 95 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,
formerly of Corning, who died Tuesday, May 16,2006, at the Grace Living
Center in Norman, Oklahoma were held Saturday, May 20,2006 at 2:00
p.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Corning with Reverend Andy Rubenking
officiating. Memorials can be given in Velma's name. Please leave

to Roland-Ritchie Funeral Home of Corning.
Velma Cramer Hughes was born near Corning, Iowa on June 17, 1910,
the daughter of Colonel A. Cramer and Maude L. (Conger) Cramer.
As a young child Velma suffered from a heart ailment and could only work
part-time as an adult. She lived fifteen years in Saskatchewan, Canada,
and was married to Mr. R. Hughes in Des Moines, Iowa. Velma spent forty-two
years in Los Angeles, California in the nursing field and was active in her church.
She enjoyed playing musical instruments in church orchestras and wrote and book
of poetry.
Velma is survived by a several nieces and other family members. Preceding
Velma in death were her parents, her husband, and other family members.
