Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Gabrielle Dorsett, who died April 20, 1964 at Villisca, were held Wednesday, April 22, 1964 at 2:00 p.m. from the Sutphen Funeral Home with the Rev. C. M. Rowe officiating.
Pall bearers included William Haugsted, Larry Slayman, T. R. Wheeler, Cecil Peterson, Paul Kernen, and Clarence Strain. Flower bearers were Janet Strain, Joan Strain, Janette Strain, Steven Kernen, and Jacquelyn Kernen. The music was by Frances Gray and Helen Penwell.
Concluding service and interment was in Nodaway Cemetery.
Anna Gabrielle Peterson, daughter of Charles and Vendis Peterson was born November 20, 1874 in Peru, Illinois. She moved with her family to Iowa in 1886 and located on a farm southeast of Villisca.
In 1900 she was united in marriage to Milton Dorsett in Tekamah, Nebraska. Later they moved to Shattuc, Illinois. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Leslie Kernen (Viva) who survives; also one son-in-saw, Leslie Kernen; also three grandchildren, Paul Kernen, Mrs. Clarence Strain (Evelyn), both of Nodaway, and Mrs. Bill March (Thelma) of Hot Springs, South Dakota. Also six great-grandchildren and granddaughter-in-law, Inez Kernen and two grandsons-in-law Clarence Strain and Bill March.
Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Burke, Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. Eleanor Hoagland, Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Myrtle Wheeler of Villisca. Two sisters and four brothers preceded her in death. She was a member of the Nodaway Methodist Church.
