Pool, Garfield Arthur -
Memorial services for Garfield Arthur Pool were held at the Lenox Christian Church on Saturday; April 8, 2:00 p. m. Rev David A. Shaeffer, minister of the Lenox Christian Church officiating. Mrs. Irma Wilcox was organist and Roland Buxton was soloist. Interment was in Prairie Rose Cemetery, Corning, Ia.
Garfield Arthur Pool was born Sept. 5, 1880 on a farm 12 miles southwest of Corning, Iowa and passed away on April 5, 1967 at the Ringgold County Hospital
after a month's illness.
As a young man he made his confession of Faith in the Fairview Christian Church later transferring his membership to the Lenox Christian Church.
On March 15, 1905 he was united in marriage to Jessie Ann Naven, who preceded him in death on March 5, 1951.
Except for a few years in Kansas, he lived in Taylor County at Bedford, Corning, Iowa and the Lenox Community. He has spent the past 15 years, since the death of his wife at Mt. Ayr.
Surviving Mr. Pool are: one sister, Mrs. Hellen Elling of Lawton, Okla.; two sons, Cranston A. Pool of Des Moines, Iowa; Max G. Pool of Mt. Ayr; a daughter, Mrs. Wm. Valder of Des Moines; one grandson and 7 granddaughters.
Bearers were: Edward Naven, Hollis Naven, Norman Naven, Paul Fischell, Don Tully and Lea Crowell.
