William Albert McClelland, 63, died at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston, Iowa at 9 a.m., Friday, October 13, 1961. He had entered the hospital Monday evening after he had suffered a stroke. Mr. McClelland had lived in Corning before moving to Creston, Iowa 11 years ago. He was the baggage agent at the Burlington Railroad Depot in Creston.
William Albert McClelland was born at Corning, Iowa, June 29, 1898. He was the son of W. C. and Anna Walter McClelland. He was married at Des Moines, to Maude O'Deill.
He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Stevens, Chicago, Illinois and Mrs. Ray Beatty of Corning; a grandson, Richard Stevens, Chicago, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Corina Simpson of Riverside, California, and Mrs. Marie McAlpin of Clarinda; four brothers, Roy of Villisca, Robert of Clarinda, Fred of Mount Ayre, and Earl of Corning.
Mr. McClelland was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 16, 1901 at 10:30 a.m. from the First Presbyterian Church in Creston. Interment was in the Methodist Grove Cemetery, at Brooks, Iowa.
