Grace Kirk Kennedy
Nellie Grace Kirk Kennedy, daughter of James and Josephine Roberts Kirk, was born December 13, 1883 at Nodaway, Iowa and died at Osage, Iowa, December 9, 1981 at the age of 97 years, 11 months, and 27 days.
She attended school in Nodaway and was a charter member of the Nodaway Presbyterian Church.
On July 4, 1904, she was united in marriage to E. C. Kennedy. To this union two children were born, Kenneth K. Kennedy of Nodaway and Josephine Kennedy Fabrious of Osage, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and three sisters, Lula, Bess, and Hazel, and one grandson, Robert Fabrious.
Survivors include her son and daughter, and two foster sons, Don Williams of LeClaire, Iowa and Clyde Williams of Chandier, Arizona; three grandchildren, K. D. Kennedy of Dallas, Texas, Carl J. Williams of Alexandria, Virginia, and Carol Cox of Ames Iowa; four great-grandchildren, and three foster grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Nodaway Methodist Church by Rev. Clair Kerns. Burial was in the Nodaway Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Harlan Pond, Dick Baldwin, Earl Goldsmith, Joe Northup, Raymond Spring, and K. D. Kennedy. Flower bearers were Mrs. Harlan Pond, and Mrs. Herman Christie. Mrs. Dorothy Beck was in charge of the memory book and ushers were Marion Hendrickson and L. J. Cronwall.

The sad news of the death of Grace Kennedy was received on Wednesday. Grace was the mother of K. K. Kennedy and was a life long resident of Nodaway and vicinity until ill health made it necessary for her to move to a nursing home near her daughter in Osage, Iowa. Grace was a lovely lady who will be missed by her family and many friends. The funeral service will be held at the Nodaway Methodist Church on Saturday, December 12, and burial was beside her husband in the Nodaway Cemetery.
K. D. Kennedy of Dallas, Texas who is the grandson of Grace Kennedy flew to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. K. Kennedy and remained until Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Fabrious of Osage also came and stayed with her brother and his wife until Sunday after the funeral
