Mary Belle Bosisto Cundy
The following obituary of Mrs. Mary Cundy, whose death was mentioned in our last week's issue will be of interest to the many friends of the lady in this community.
Mrs. Mary Cundy died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mable Coulthard in Artesian, South Dakota, May 20, 1925.
Mary Bosisto was born in Elk Grove, Wisconsin, June 9, 1852. She came to Iowa with her parents in May 1871, where she settled in the north edge of Taylor County, Iowa. She was married to Edwin L. Cundy February 22, 1872, then moved to their farm on the Corning Bedford road, now the Keefe land, where Mr. Paymall Henry Huntington and Lord Davis were their neighbors. To them eleven children were born, the of whom are living. They are William, Mrs. Ella Coulthard, Mrs. Mable Coulthard, Mrs. Emily Thompson, Mrs. Florence Pope, Harry of Artesian, South Dakota, Mar. May Ingersoll of Maryville, Missouri, Mrs. Grace Close of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Jesse of Flake, and Lou of Sharpsburg, Iowa; and besides these, Mrs. Cundy leaves twenty-one grandchildren and two brothers and two sister, Joe Bosisto and Mrs. Etta Smith of Corning; Mrs. Emma Myattway of Cedar Falls, and Bert Bosisto of Tabor, Iowa to mourn her loss. She had been a member of the Methodist Church and a devoted Christian since early girlhood. She leaves many dear friends both in Dakota and Iowa. Mrs. Cundy has been in poor health for a number of years.
