Harold G. Everett, son of Charles and Carrie Campbell Everett was born in Adams County, Iowa, August 1, 1891 and passed away at the Murphy Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa, March 13, 1976, at the age of 84 years, 7 months, and 12 days.
He was united in marriage to Mary Edna Norcutt, December 25, 1917. To this union were born four children, Betty, Mrs. Merlin Johnson, Red Oak, Iowa, Edna, Mrs. Harry Weaver, Villisca, James M. Everett, Nodaway, Iowa, and Wilma, Mrs. Floyd Ellis of Stanton, California.
Harold was a lifelong resident of the Nodaway vicinity except for his military service in World War I. He was a member of World War I Barracks, 50 year member of Joseph Thuman Post No. 646, American Legion, a member of the Nodaway Methodist Church, and a 50 year member of Iroquois Lodge No. 590.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents, brothers, Albert, Frank, Smith, James, and Charles, and a sister, Mattie. He is survived by his four children and brothers, Paul and Clarence Everett of Nodaway, and a sister, Florence Brown of Council Bluffs, Iowa, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Nodaway, March 16 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Eldon Haworth officiating. Interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery. Graveside services were conducted by Iroquois Lodge No. 590 A.F. & A.M. and the Nodaway American Legion, Joseph Thuman Post 646, Nodaway, Iowa.
Music was provided by David Hull and Mrs. Quincy Dunn. Flowerbearers were Mrs. Marjorie Wallace, Mrs. Malcolm Shipley, and Mrs. Dean Hunter. Mrs. Willis Baker was in charge of the register. Pallbearers were Clifford Palmer, Merlin Carlson, Gilbert Rider, Willis Baker, Earl Goldsmith, and Walter Frey.
