Josephine Gibbs Willett
Mrs. R. N. Willett died Sunday morning at 7 o'clock at her residence in Nodaway, following an illness of several months duration. The funeral services was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and the services were conducted by Rev. E. S. McCartney, pastor of the Nodaway M. E. Church. Interment was made in the Nodaway Cemetery. Josephine Gibbs was born July 19, 1866 in Des Moines and was aged 48 years, 8 months, and 2 days. She was reared near Des Moines, where she married Richard Nathaniel Willett June 2 1886. Seven children were born to them, six of whom are living, Eber, Olin, Clyde, Blanche, Bernice, and Beulah. The family removed to a farm north of Nodaway where they lived for sometime.
Last fall she removed to Nodaway where they bought a home and in order that the children might have better educational advantages. For some time Mrs. Willett had been suffering from a nervous trouble. She was an excellent lady and has a large circle of friends in the neighborhood where she has resided for a number of years who regret to learn of her death and extend sympathy to the family.
