Eckles, Emma Semmons -
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, April 15, at 2 o'clock at the United Presbyterian church for Mrs. Emma Eckles. The services were conducted by the Rev. W. A. Thompson. Burial was made in the Stringtown cemetery.

Emma Semmons, daughter of Gilbert and Eleanor Semmons, was born Nov. 18, 1863, in Janesville, Ohio, and passed away at her home in Lenox, Iowa, April 13, 1935, at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 25 days.

While she was a child her parents moved to Iowa and settled on a farm near Lenox where she lived until her marriage to Lafayette Eckles, October 24,1878. To them were born Everett, William Floyd, Walter Guy, Grace Elizabeth, Mrs. Laura Symonds of Kent, Mrs. Myrtle Herbst of Lenox and Mrs. Dorothy Conwell of Allerton, Iowa.

Mrs. Eckles united with the Presbyterian church in Lenox in 1911, being received by letter from the Baptist church at Prescott, Iowa.

Her husband, three sons and a daughter preceeded her in death, Mr. Eckles having departed this life March 6, 1907. She is survived by her daughters, Laura, Myrtle and Dorothy, eleven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mattie Catlett of Millard, Nebr., and Lizzie Kane of Corning, Iowa.
