VanHouten, Esther Louisa –
Mrs. E. L. Van Houten passed away Thursday, September 3, at the home of her son, Will Van Houten, on the old home place in Adams county.

Mrs. Van Houten was an old pioneer of Taylor and Adams and had she lived seventeen days more she would have been 92 years old.

She had lived with her daughter Mrs. A. E. Caven, south of Lenox for several months and had gone to the home of her son just about a month ago.

Her death was the result of a fall she received just ten days before she died, at which time she suffered a broken limb.

Mrs Van Houten was a sister-in-law of Mrs. S. A. Van Houten of Lenox.

Funeral services were held at Prescott Sunday afternoon at the Prescott church of which she was a member. Burial was in Corning cemetery.
