William Alvin Orme was born in Warren County, Iowa, May 27, 1854, and died at his residence near Corning, Iowa, June 21, 1909. He came with his parents, Jesse Orme and wife, to Nodaway, Iowa in 1865, and had resided in the vicinity of Nodaway, Iowa, until March 1909, when he moved to his present home.

He was married to Margaret V. White of Nodaway, February 24, 1876, and to this union were born four children; Mrs. A.B. Wise of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Earl and Everett of Nodaway, Iowa and Emmett of Lincoln, Nebraska, all of whom with the widow, were with the deceased during his last sickness.

The deceased has been one of the active members of the Nodaway M.E. Church since infancy and held his membership there at the time of his death. During all the many years of his Christian profession, his life has been an inspiration to all with whom he came in contact.

Funeral services were held at the Nodaway M.E. Church, conducted by the pastor and interment was made in the Nodaway Cemetery, under the auspices of the Nodaway Masonic Lodge, of which organization he was a valued member.
