DEPRESSION OF 1893

NO LEGISLATION YET THAT WILL TEND TO RELIEVE THE DEPRESSION

The Silver Debate goes on in the House from day to day and considerable time is yet to be consumed in like matter. The Senate is making no progress in financial legislation. The voice of the East is heard in behalf of free coinage. The double standard of gold and silver and miscellaneous matters will be heard in both houses of Congress.

Mr. Lodge argued in support of prompt action. If the country was to have free coinage let the country know it. If it was to have a limited coinage let the country know it. If there was to be an unconditional repeal of the silver act let the country know it.
