Emerson Wakefield Dies At Macksburg

Emerson E. Wakefield, who had been making his home with his son, Fred Wakefield of near Macksburg, died there Sunday, July 12, at the age of 89 years.

Mr. Wakefield was born in Warren County on Oct. 20, 1860. a son of Henry T. and Sarah O'Neil Wakefield. With the exception of 28 years in Nebraska, his lfe was spent in Iowa.

He was married March 1, 1891 to Christine C. Marsh. They were parents of 4 children. 1 son Dewey proceeded him in death in 1951.

Surviving are his wife, 2 son's, Fred of Macksburg and Harold of Winterset, a daughter, Mrs. Frank Hastings of Scranton: 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 3 foster great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in Greenfield, July 14, conducted by the Rev. Wesley Lowry, burial was made in the Greenfield Cemetery
