February 19, 1996Arthur T. Wyllie, 79, of rural Fontanelle, died Febraury 15, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the the Bridgewater Christian Church ( Disciples of Christ ) with the Rev. Sally Robinson officiating. Interment was in the Garner Cemetery in rural Bridgewater, with an open visitation was held after 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The son of Thomas and Mary C. Castell Wyllie, he was born July 1, 1916 in rural Bridgewater in Adair County. He attended school through the ninth grade, and married LaVeta Showalteron May 19, 1941 in the Bridgewater Christian Church ( Disciples of Christ ). He was a farmer, and lived on a farm near Fontanelle since 1945. He was a member of the Bridgewater Christian Church ( Disciples of Christ ).
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Tina Raasch and Bessie Lents and one brother William Wyllie.
Survivors include his wife. LaVeta Wyllie of rural Fontanelle, one daughter, Bonita Baughman and her husband, Tom of Adel, one brother, Charles Wyllie of the Griswold Care Center in Griswold, two sisters, Nellie Herrick and her husband Earl of Shenandoah and Jennie Burris of Brighton Care Center in Brighton, Colo. and two grandchildren.
