Dominic F. Breheny, 76, who had lived most of his life in Greenfield & Adair County, died at his home at Audubon about 10a.m. Sunday June 1st. He had been confined to a wheel chair for 16 years due to Arthritis.
Mr. Breheny was born at Earlham but moved to Adair County many years ago. About 4 months ago he & Mrs. Breheny moved to Audubon to make their home.
Surviving him are his widow Martha; 2 nephews who also are foster sons Lyle Monahan of Audubon & Dale Monaghan of Vancouver, Wash.; 3 brothers John Breheny of Greenfield, Pat Breheny of Des Moines & Francis Breheny of Casey; & 2 sisters Mrs. Maggie Lydon of Des Moines & Mrs. Agnes Miller of Casey.
Funeral services were held at 9a.m. Tuesday June 3 at St.John's Catholic Church in Greenfield, with the Rev.B. Kane officiating at the Requiem High Mass. Those serving as casketbearers were Vincent Breheny, Clair Dickey, Frances Dickey, Francis Lydon, Raymond Miller & Vern Richards. Burial was in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Some of the relatives from other vicinities attending were Jay McDaniel of Brighton, Ill.; Mr.& Mrs. Lyle Monahan & family of Audubon; Mr. & Mrs. John Cass of Orient; Mrs. Harold Strausser of Creston; Mr. & Mrs. Francis Dickey of the Menlo area; Mr. & Mrs. John Rogers & daughter Valinda of Des Moines.
