Edith E.Kading, 96, of Adair, passed away Feb.24,2005, at the Adair Community Health Center.
Edith was born Jan.16, 1909, on the family farm southwest of Anita, the daughter of Eli and Amelia King.
She graduated from Anita High School, attended Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls and taught rural school until her marriage to Harold Kading June 9,1937. They spent their married life on a farm in Walnut Township.
She was a good helpful neighbor and an active member of the ODO Club. Edith's interests were many, from her gardening on the farm raising many fruits and vegetables to be preserved for winter to her love of the many flowers she had, both house plants and differant varieties all around the outside. She had a desire to try planting something new each and every year. She had great sewing, crocheting and knitting abilities. She made many clothes, rugs and quilts. Her hands were always very busy with something.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter; 2 sisters and a brother.
She is survived by 2 sons Lyle andwife Nadine of rural Adair and Darrell and wife Shirley of Omaha, Neb.; daughter Marlene and husband Don Gregory of Rapid City, S.D.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Feb.28, at Mullen Funeral Home in Adair with the Rev.Pat Weidemeir officiating.
Music tributes were by organist Susan Kroeker and violinist Kristi Kading.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at Anita.
