Funeral At Hebron For Leona Wilson

Funeral services for Leona E.Wilson, 83, were held at the Hebron United Methodist Church Friday morning, March 23, 1990. Rev.Kathy Raines of rural Orient was the officiating pastor. Mrs Wilson died at the Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle on March 20, 1990.
Cleota Tapken presided at the organ, and played 2 hymns, "Whispering Hope" and "How Great Thou Art". In charge of the flowers were Karen Seley and Myrtle Bodtke.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Al Bodtke, Art Lilly and Lloyd Vandewater. Interment was in the Hebron Cemetery and acting pallbearers were Dean Seley, Cliff Sheriff, Clarence Swartz, Dean Beaman, Marion Mitchell and Royce Hauschildt.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie C. Wilson; a brother Elmer and her parents Otto and Lillian Swanson.
She is survived by a son Worth Wilson and wife Lenora of Greenfield; and a daughter Bonnie Wright and husband Don of Menlo; 5 grandsons Johnnie Wilson and wife Patty of Orient;Donnie Wilson and wife Colleen of Greenfield; Tom Wright and wife Carol of Fisher,Illinois; Dalton Wright and wife Lori of Menlo and Devin Wright and wife Cindy of Stuart; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters Grace Cotter of Newton; Clara Dash of Spencer; 1 brother Rex of Newton; nieces; nephews other relatives and friends.
Leona Esther was born June 28,1906 to Otto and Lillian Chase Swanson in Guthrie Center. She had been in frail health for several years prior to her death.
She was a homemaker and lived in Stuart before her marriage Nov.3,1926. She was a member of the Hebron United Methodist Church, taught Sunday School for several years, and was a member of the UMW Society, the Town and Country Garden Club and the Grand River Group.
