Alfred Burl Chambers, son of George and Laura Watts Chambers, was born December 14, 1906 in Adair County, Iowa and passed away February 10, 1975 at the Dexter Hospital, Dexter, Iowa.
He attended the Grove #1 School.
On March 20, 1929, he was united in marriage to Rosa Conard in Des Moines, Iowa and 2 daughters were born to this union.
He farmed and trucked in this community all of his life. He was a member of the Fairview Congregational Christian Church. He was a member of the Crusade Lodge #386 A.F and A.M., Greenfield, and the Eastern Star and Oddfellows, Stuart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.
Survivors include his wife Roosa; 2 daughters Lorna Christiansen of Baltimore, Maryland and Darlene Hanke and her husband Arnold of Marshalltown, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 1 brother Audra and his wife Vera of Denver, Colorado; 1 sister Grace Johnson and husband William of Lacy, Washington; 1 sister-in-law Lill Chambers of Arvada, Colorado; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Rev.George Thurman officiated at the funeral service on Thursday February 13, 1975 at the Fairview Congregational Christian Church in Adair County. Mrs. Wayne Watts provided organ music with Carl Carlson as vocalist. Floral tributes were cared for by Mrs. Don Draman, Mrs. Jerry Nelson, and Mrs. Larry Watts. Those serving as casketbearers were Don Draman, Bill Nelson, Larry Watts, Vincent McGinnis, Gary Benton and Jerry Nelson. Interment services were held in the Greenfield Cemetery Greenfield, Iowa.
