Mrs. Bess Brown 77 life-long resident of Adair County and a resident of Greenfield for many years passed away at 4:40 p.m. Saturday May 17,1969 at the Dexter Clinic Hospital where she had been a patient for several weeks. She was born in Adair County Dec.5,1891 and her life span covered a period of 77 years, 5 months and 12 days.
Survivors are a daughter Mrs. Carl Bassett of Stuart and 1 grandson.
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Brown Tuesday afternoon May 20,1969 at the Bickford-Murray Funeral Home in Greenfield with the Rev. Paul Textor officiating.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bickford sang 2 hymns "How Great Thou Art" and "Whispering Hope" accompanied by Mrs. Donald Hogan organist.
Burial was in the Greenfield Cemetery. The following were pallbearers Max Hall, Malcolm Porter, Don Porter, Lester Langdon, Dick Porter and Clifford Welcher.
Mrs. Velma Herrick, Mrs. Dorothy Purty and Mrs. Betty Kennerly had charge of the floral tributes.
