Mrs. Ida Brown 76 Dies Friday Ill For 5 Weeks

Mrs. Ida Brown aged 76 years who has been a patient at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield for 5 weeks last Tuesday became worse the past week gradually growing worse and passed away about 1:15 on Friday afternoon.

She is survived by 6 children; 3 daughters and 3 sons; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 brother Jim Banister of Chariton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Brown; 3 sons; 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Mrs. Brown had been in failing health for over 2 years during which time she had beencared for most of the time in the homes of her daughter Mrs. Lawrence Williams of Bridgewater and her son Mr. and Mrs. Donald Brown of Prescott when not able to be in her own home here.

Ida Banister Brown daughter of Levi and Minervia Banister was born Aug.14,1880 in Adair County Iowa and passed away at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield, Iowa Aug.3,1956 at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 20 days. She was of a family of 8 children; 4 sisters and 3 brothers all of whom preceded her in death except her brother Jim Bianister of Chariton, Iowa.

She spent almost her entire life in the Bridgewater vicinity.

She was united in marriage to Thomas D.Brown Feb.28,1899 who preceded her in death in 1934. She was the mother of 9 children; 3 preceded her in death Earl, Edward at the age of 30 and Billy age 22 and 1 infant son.

She is survived by her children Walter Brown of Diagonal; Laura Williams of Bridgewater; Lloyd Brown of Butterfield, Mo.; Donald Brown of Prescott; Grace Shinkle of Nevinville; Ruth Shinkle of Carl; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 brother Jim Banister Of Chariton and a host of other relatives and friends.
